When strong friendships form within a few meetings, I know that God is doing what only God can do. Not only can God bond two people with a strong friendship in a short period of time, but He can create life-long friendships.
In his book The Four Loves, C.S. Lewis states,
“We are born helpless. As soon as we are fully conscious we discover loneliness. We need others physically, emotionally, intellectually; we need them if we are to know anything, even ourselves.”

My heart is growing, for I did not know how much I needed people until I visited Kenya. Apparently, I had some loose ends that God wanted to tie up with crimson cords of love. God gifted me with what C.S. Lewis calls ‘Need-Love.’ It is what my soul needs from God.

Tell Him what you want.
Jesus is on the main line;
Tell Him what you want.
Jesus is on the main line;
Tell him what you want,
Call Him up and tell Him what you want.
If you want religion,
tell Him what you want.
If you want the Holy Ghost,
tell Him what you want.
If you’re sick and can’t get well,
Tell Him what you want.
Call Him up and tell Him what you want.
What do I want? I want John and I to be in good health. I want to go to Kenya and bring family with. I want friends from Kenya to be given wisdom, hope, joy, prosperity, and peace on a daily basis. I want my neediness to be met with God’s love. Finally, I do not want to become gluttonous or tyrannical with my love from others. Again, as C.S. Lewis states, I do not want to be comforted by…
the illusory feeling that it is good to be alone – a bad spiritual symptom.
